SPP Products, a Texas-based master distributor serving the electrical, fire protection and mechanical OEM segments, will digitalise its Houston facility. The business, part of Everflow Supplies, will implement Interlake Mecalux’s Easy WMS warehouse management system to increase efficiency across all logistics operations.
The Houston facility has become a strategic logistics hub for SPP Products. “We were looking for a WMS that could improve inventory control and provide us with greater visibility of warehouse operations. Easy WMS seemed like the most robust option,” says a company spokesperson.
In addition to Easy WMS, Interlake Mecalux will implement three advanced modules to further enhance process efficiency in SPP Products’ warehouse:
- Slotting for WMS, to streamline product placement and reduce travel time during picking tasks.
- Labor Management System (LMS), to monitor performance, define work standards and identify improvement opportunities.
- Multi-Carrier Shipping Software, to automate packing, labelling and dispatch operations while ensuring real-time traceability.
For this project, Interlake Mecalux partner Avalon CSC began by developing detailed process maps to establish a clear operational framework. The warehouse was then reslotted to optimise the efficiency of the WMS. Avalon CSC ensured that the system design aligned with SPP Product’s specific operational requirements and conducted extensive testing to confirm its ability to perform effectively in real-world warehouse conditions. Finally, Avalon CSC validated the accurate integration of ERP-managed inventory within the WMS.
The implementation of Easy WMS in the Houston facility is a key milestone in the business’s digital transformation strategy. “This solution will enable us to better organise daily operations,” says a company representative.
