La Piamontesa modernises its new automated warehouse in Argentina
Managed by Easy WMS, the warehouse is composed of the Pallet Shuttle system with stacker crane. This solution provides constant goods flows and, most notably, optimises space to achieve a storage capacity of 2,415 pallets in merely 700 m².
La Piamontesa, an Argentinian company specialising in meat products, has experienced an increase in demand, making it necessary to optimise its space and automate its storage processes.
To do this, it has relied on the know-how and professionalism of Mecalux, experts in high-density and automated solutions for warehouses.
The technical teams of both companies immediately set to work to analyse operations and design the solution that would best meet the company’s goals. These included reducing energy consumption and connecting the installation with the production plant.
Taking all of this into account, Mecalux built a two-storey clad-rack warehouse with a capacity for two thousand four hundred and fifteen pallets.
The finished products enter the upper floor of the facility by means of conveyors that connect it with the production centre.
These conveyors transport the pallets to the clad-rack warehouse, which maintains the right temperature for the product.
This automated installation, measuring forty-three metres long by fourteen metres high, is equipped with the Pallet Shuttle system with stacker crane.
This is charged with moving pallets to the location designated by Mecalux’s Easy WMS warehouse management system.
Goods outflows take place on the lower level. There, thanks to the Easy WMS warehouse management system, fifteen pick stations manage the more than seventy-seven SKUs included in the company’s catalogue.
Easy WMS has not only automated all management, but also provides accurate and exhaustive traceability of all products.
The solution implemented by Mecalux has enabled La Piamontesa to maximise its storage space as well as automate the processes necessary to achieve the company’s objectives.
